Rightly Use Our Feelings for Performance

2021-10-06

When our emotional health is in a bad condition, our level of self-esteem is low. We need to deal with what is troubling us, so that we can enjoy life and be at peace with ourselves again.

When our emotional health is out of balance we can not perform as expected at work, nor function well at home. To understand our feelings, to truly be who we are, requires that we can talk openly about things that are important to us, that we take a clear position on where we stand on important emotional issues, and that we clarify the limits of what is acceptable and tolerable to us in a relationship. Emotionally healthy people treat themselves with respect and take care of their environment. They are able to invest themselves completely in projects and people, because they do not fear failure or rejection.

By daring look at ourselves we can learn how to better understand, use and manage, and effectively express our own feelings, as well as engage and navigate successfully with the feelings of others. Emotional intelligence is the ability to use our own emotions in positive ways to communicate effectively, empathise with others and defuse conflict. It helps us to connect with our feelings, to turn intention into action and to make informed decisions about what matters most to us. It helps us build stronger relationships and achieve our goals.
